What personal information do we collect?

Participant’s privacy is very important to us. Before we get to the details, check out our Privacy Label to see a summary of our privacy practices. ABR collects information about participant, including information that directly or indirectly identifies participant

  1. When you create an account
  2. We collect basic account and profile information like Name, email, mobile number, etc. and other information about you, in order to create an account for you. We collect your date of birth to ensure that the content provided within the application is suitable and to calculate participant age as on event start date and put him/her into relevant age category for the purpose of leaderboard or rewards if any.

    All the above information is maintained confidential and neither shared nor sold.

  3. When you purchase or join an ABR challenge
  4. If you purchase an ABR challenge via our website or App, we use third party - RazorPay a payments solution, to collect and process your payment information. Razorpay is a fully compliant international payment gateway. The financial information filled in this form is gathered directly by Razorpay. ABR does neither captures nor preserves any financial data filled in by the participants. The privacy policy of Razorpay can be access from here.

    We may also collect contact and delivery information to enable us to send apparel and marketing. You may opt out of receiving marketing emails.

    If you join a ABR challenge we may ask you to complete a short questionnaire so that we can customize your use of our services.

    Use and Accessibility

    ABR does not use or collect any payment related information from any participant.

  5. When you complete an ABR challenge
  6. When you complete a ABR challenge we collect contact and delivery information.

    Use and Accessibility

    ABR collect this information to send your medal as a reward for completion, and marketing via Whatsapp and/or SMS and/or email (if you opted in).

  7. When you connect an app or device
  8. Direct API integration - ABR provides facility whereby participants can authorize ABR to directly pull data from the third-party applications which the participant is using to keep track of his/her activity. The data extracted from the direct integration is governed by the third party. As part of connecting to an app or device, to sync your distances/activities, you will be required to consent to the sharing of your devices information with us. The information provided will vary on the app or device used but can contain information such as the locations you have exercised, the route taken, and your heart rate/other health data.

    We only use and store the following information and dispose of all other health/location data provided by the connected service.

    • Geo-location
    • Distance travelled
    • Number of steps
    • Activity type (e.g. running/walking/riding)
    • Duration of activity
    • Pace
    • Time of run
    • Third-party app name / data sources

    The Activity data consumed by ABR is used to calculate ranks in various leader boards and reward participants as per the challenge/event the participant has registered for

  10. When you sign up to receive our newsletter we will collect your name and email address. We will also collect details about how you interact with newsletters we send e.g., did you open the email.

    Unless indicated otherwise, this Privacy Policy does not apply to third party products or services or the practices of companies that we do not own or control, including other companies you might interact with on or through ABR platform.

    Use and Accessibility

    All the above information if provided by the participant is used to categorize participants in different leaderboards. Except date of birth and t-shirt size, the profile information is available publicly on ABR in the form of leader boards. All leaderboards are publicly visible on ABR website.

  13. Anonymised information
  14. We may collect statistical information, such as visit counts and traffic sources, so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information is aggregated and therefore anonymous.

    Use and Accessibility

    The platform uses log files. The information stored in those files includes IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, administer, protect and secure the platform, track member movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses may be linked to session IDs, athlete IDs and device identifiers. The technical information and log files are neither accessible nor sold to any third party.   15. Contact Information
  16. ABR consumes contact information including mailing address, communication address, email address, contact number when the participant provides. Except email address, all other information is optional.

    None of the contact information is shared or sold to any third party. ABR only uses contact information to respond to participant’s support requests, comments, dispatch of participant t-shirts, gratifications and achievement medals in case applicable.

  18. When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string.

    Use and Accessibility

    ABR uses the data primarily for spam detection and other security purposes. An anonymized string created from participant email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if participant are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of participant’s comment, participant’s profile picture is visible to the public in the context of participant’s comment.

  19. Embedded content from other websites
  20. Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

    Use and Accessibility

    These websites may collect data about participant, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor participant’s interaction with that embedded content, including tracking participant’s interaction with the embedded content if participant have an account and are logged in to that website.

  21. Content You Share
  22. We collect information from the photos, posts, comments, kudos, ratings, reviews, and other content participant share on the platform, including when participant participates in other partner events.

    The content collected from participants are shared on ABR platform publically for its promotion and participant’s effort glorification as well as encouragement for other participants.

  24. We may collect information from participants through third parties, such as when we collect participant feedback through surveys.

    We may also collect information about participant from other participants such as when they give kudos, flag an activity or comment on participant activities.

    How ABR Uses Information

    ABR uses the information necessary for the participants to compete in various challenges and events. The virtual events/challenges primarily use the activity information including pace, distance and publically accessible activity links to analyse, validate and identify where the participant stands in an event/challenge.

    We also use the information we collect to analyse, develop and improve the platform. To do this, ABR may use third-party analytics providers to gain insights into how platform services are used and to help us improve these services.

    We may also use the information we collect to market and promote the platform, activities on platform, and other commercial products or services.

Aggregate Information

We do not sell participant’s personal information. We may aggregate the information participant and others make available about the challenges/event or platform and post it publicly or share it with third parties. Examples of the type of information we may aggregate include information about equipment, usage, demographics, routes and performance. ABR may use, sell, license, and share this aggregated information with third parties for research, business or other purposes such as to improve walking, running or riding in cities or to help our partners understand more about athletes, including the people who use their products and services. The aggregate information does not contain any information which identifies individual participant and does not contains any personal or contact information.

Service Providers

We may share participant’s information with third parties who provide services to ABR such as postal and courier services, t-shirt vendors for sizing and logistics partners for rewards in case partner sponsored award is to be disbursed to the participant. We may also engage service providers to collect information about participant’s use of the platform over time on our behalf so that we or they may promote ABR or display information that may be relevant to participant’s interests on the platform or other websites or services.

Legal Requirements

We may preserve and share participant’s information with third parties, including law enforcement, public or governmental agencies, or private litigants, within or outside participant’s country of residence, if we determine that such disclosure is allowed by the law or reasonably necessary to comply with the law, including to respond to court orders, warrants, subpoenas, or other legal or regulatory process. We may also retain, preserve or disclose participant’s information if we determine that this is reasonably necessary or appropriate to prevent any person from death or serious bodily injury, to address issues of national security or other issues of public importance, to prevent or fraud or abuse of ABR or its members, or to protect our operations or our property or other legal rights, including by disclosure to our legal counsel and other consultants and third parties in connection with actual or potential litigation.

Deleting Information and Accounts

Participant can request deletion of their account and data via contacting support.

After a participant makes a deletion request, we permanently and irreversibly delete participant’s personal data from our systems, including backups. Once deleted, the data, including account and activities cannot be reinstated. Following deletion of the account, it may take up to 90 days to delete personal information and system logs from our systems. Additionally, we may retain information where deletion requests are made to comply with the law and take other actions permitted by law.

Reports and leader boards of events ,in which participant has participated, will continue to showcase the participant’s position in leader boards and public reports of the events.

Note that content participant has shared with others, such as photos, or that others have copied may also remain visible after participant has deleted his/her account or deleted specific information from his/her own profile. The public profile may be displayed in search engine results until the search engine refreshes its cache.

ABR also provides participant an option to remove individual activities he/she has posted from view on the Services without deleting his/her account. The activities will typically remain on ABR’s systems.

Transfers

The Services are operated from India. If participant is located outside of India and choose to use the Services or provide information to us, participant acknowledges and understand that his/her information will be transferred, processed and stored in India, as it is necessary to provide the Services.

Retention of Information

We retain participant information if it is necessary to provide the Services to the participant and others, subject to any legal obligations to further retain such information. Information associated with participant account will generally be kept until it is no longer necessary to provide the Services or until participant account is deleted. In addition, participant can delete some items of information (e.g., profile information) and can remove individual activities from view on the Services without deleting his/her account. Following deletion of participant’s account, it may take up to 90 days to fully delete participant’s personal information and system logs from our systems. Additionally, we may retain information where deletion requests are made to comply with the law, prevent fraud, collect fees, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations and take other actions permitted by law.

Information connected to participant that is no longer necessary and relevant to provide our Services may be de-identified or aggregated with other non-personal data to provide insights which are commercially valuable to ABR, such as statistics of the use of the Services. For example, we may retain publicly available mileage, pace and ranking and other depersonalized geolocation information to continue to improve the Services and we use aggregated information. This information will be de-associated with participant’s name and other identifiers.

Cookies

A “cookie” is a small piece of text file/ information stored by a web server on a web browser/ your device about your visit on our online platforms so it can be later read back from that browser. Cookies allow us to recognize a specific device in order to personalize and optimize your experience. We may use cookie and tracking technology depending on the features offered. No Information will be collected via cookies and other tracking technology; however, if you previously provided Information, cookies may be tied to such information. We use ‘session’ cookies for a browser session, we also store cookies in your computer to access your login information, and preferences. We use cookies to enhance your experience of our services.

How do we secure your information?

Your personal information is held in a controlled and secure environment. We use appropriate technical, organisational, and administrative security measures to protect any information we hold from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
